Server Browser Confirmed for Battlefield 3....Console Platforms

That's correct. The Playstation3 and Xbox 360 will both be getting a server browser to help select games. The Battlefield twitter confirms this:

Looks like a little something for everyone at GamesCon. Some Co-Op footage and now confirmation of a browser for consoles.

No details yet on what options will be available or how the browser will work.

Yes this is good, I played BC1 and sometimes you're stuck on a laggy server and it's annoying. You can quit but each time you want to join the game it joins the same server, like 10 times in a row. Basically you stop playing for several hours.

And it's been confirmed by "'zh1nt0" that there won't be an in-game server browser on the PC. You'll need to launch the game from the "Battlelog" web site. http://live-event.ea.com/gamescom/ba...ive-broadcast/

There are a couple of screen grabs of the browser and the actual filters from another forum someone posted.

although I can't say much about it I REALLY liked the BattleLog way of handling things, you just choose a server from there and it would boot up the level and go and with how games these days have their overlays for web browsing, as well as alt tab, was a very lightweight and fast way to do it

even in its very basic form as it was during the alpha hope we can sort of tweak control settings from it though

Hopefully the web browser plugins won't break if you're using a web browser that gets frequent updates. Will DICE get the server ping worked out properly this time? I don't mind having to use out of game server browser but I don't think they can get the same level of usability as say a 3rd party server browser program. Having the game load in the background is okay but they seem to only be doing that so they can have "Origin" pop-up into the foreground and spam advertising at you.

I really liked the Battlelog browser too. I have no issues loading the game through there. It was much faster and felt more lightweight, even though it probably wasn't since I had Firefox, Origin, and the game running.

But I do think there should be an in-game browser as well.
