Ridley Scott Making Content for Call of Duty Elite

Call of Duty Elite, Activision's bid to make their billion-dollar shooter more community driven, will be getting some "exclusive episodic entertainment" from the likes of Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Ridley Scott, the company said during a recent presentation.

Speaking to a gathering at the 13th Annual Pacific Crest Global Technology Leadership Forum in Vail, Colorado, Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said that Activision is developing "exclusive episodic entertainment built just for the Call of Duty community. We are working with the likes of Will Arnett and Jason Bateman, Ben Silverman (we assume that's The Office executive producer) and Ridley and Tony Scott to create this content."

"Just like any other passion that people spend a lot of their free time doing, Call of Duty players share a common language and a common experience and we think we can create some entertainment content that they will love and talk about and share."

We've reached out to Activision to find out what we can about this content. It could mean anything from new maps or missions to an interactive experience or film short. I'm sort of hoping for the latter, especially from Scott.

Ridley Scott was the Director for various movies such as Alien, Blade Runner, and Thelma & Louise. Hopefully more news will be available on what he may be working on with Activision and CoD:Elite.

PC Beta is still coming soon, and we still have to wait until September to get all the details for MW3 and CoDElite at the CoDXP event. Going to wait to reserve judgement until then, but it still looks like I'll be sticking to the free features of Elite, unless it is financially cheaper to sign up for Elite then to buy the DLCs seprate since Elite includes the DLCs (but do you get to keep them once Elite expires).
