As I mentioned, below my first sentence, there is not one. You see the option when you install it. If you removed it from MSCONFIG, then thats the same thing.

Anarchy1 affirmed that the option is only available at install.

Whats really strange about that is I have not received an Origin update in some time, so this change is either a figment of my imagination and those settings are only in the install process or EA somehow changed the config options without showing an install.

Anyway that is pretty arrogant of EA. I managed to kill it from msconfig, but I doubt the average PC user will even know that tool exists.
And I wouldn't be surprised if it overwrites the setting each this it updates.
Every time you install an Origin update, it will ask you again whether you want it to start on boot. I've almost missed this a few times because it's on the installation complete page that I usually just click past without looking.

Yes, Origin is launched automatically when you launch BF3, so it is not a problem except for the 10 seconds it takes Origin to login etc.

So it still runs fine after you kill the startup process with msconfig?

I find it annoying also and ive also had some experiences of the game running)bf3 process) in the background when i though i closed it or it has crashed

Ive had about 5 system lock ups(black screens of death) and thats too many so i hope the tweak that out of beta.

Spore: I bought it through Origin, and once again the key is invalid. Support tells me that no games before 2009 can be activated, and they do not have an ETA for a solution. And yet they keep selling it through Origin. I can still play SP though.

So what do you think will happen when a million rabid BF-junkies start to activate their game on Origin?
I was able to add a lot of my games to Origin, but when I was helping a friend they refused and told me the only way was to rebuy them. I asked to be escalated to a higher level manager and was then told the system for adding older games was down with no ETA on when it will be up again.

There may be. I have to admit that adding origin to the mix of the other never before done things with BF3 makes it another point of failure.
