EA Press Release Tells More about Battlefield 3 Features

    From Planet Battlefield:

EA sent out a press release today explaining the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition and the North American pre-order bonus items. Mostly all information we know, but it does reveal the price of the Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion pack will be $14.99 for gamers who do not buy the limited edition. Also stated is that there will be 10 co-op maps, which was previously revealed.

EA has put the list of digital retailers back up which lists all the places around the world you can pick up a copy of Battlefield 3.

Seen below are two screenshots showing the U.S. and Russian SPECACT kits; one of the pre-order bonus items at select retailers (Best Buy in the U.S.).

EA Unveils Battlefield 3 Limited Edition and North American Pre-Order Bonus Items

Fan Frenzy Explodes, Shatters EA Pre-Order Records

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - The heat of the battle intensifies today as DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio announces two editions of Battlefield 3™ and the unique pre-order items available at participating retailers in North America. Soldiers and squads looking to claim battlefield superiority this Oct. 25, 2011 have an exciting array of options available when pre-ordering Battlefield 3 from select retailers. Fans worldwide are already gearing up to play in squads and are pre-ordering the game in record numbers. Battlefield 3 pre-orders are up more than 10x Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2.

Battlefield 3 is proving to be one of the most anticipated games of 2011, having already earned over 50 awards including ‘Best Action Game’ and ‘Best Online Multiplayer Game.’ Critics praise the game for its intense gameplay experience, powered by the Frostbite™ 2 state-of-the-art game engine that delivers superior performance in character animation, visual rendering, audio and physical destruction. To accompany the game, Orion Publishing will release a novel written by the highly decorated ex-SAS operator and best-selling author of Bravo Two Zero, Andy McNab, with co-author Peter Grimsdale. McNab is working with the creative team at DICE to ensure the authenticity and grittiness of today’s warfare is experienced in the single player, co-op and multiplayer campaigns.

    Battlefield 3 Standard Edition

In Battlefield 3, players step into the role of the elite U.S. Marines. As the first boots on the ground, players experience heart-pounding missions across diverse locations including Paris, Tehran and New York City. In the field, periods of tension and anticipation are punctuated by moments of complete chaos. As bullets whiz by, as walls crumble, as explosions force players to the ground, the battlefield feels more alive and interactive than ever before. To complement the single-player campaign, Battlefield 3 delivers 10 massive co-op maps and multiple multiplayer modes – a proven strength of DICE.

So there is a bit more information on the pre-purchase choices as well as the cost to Back to Karkand that will be available later after release.

Its better, but yeah, with the frostbite engine, it has that look. Even though the images are much better with FB2, it still has the look.

The SPECACT doesn't look too interesting. I think I will avoid that one.

The second one is a SV-98. Not sure what the first gun is. It does look like an M95, but there is no gas thing on the end of the barrel.

Thats the Bolt action version of the Standard configuration M82/M107. I think its the M98 or something like that.

OMG, Evasion Coquine has some "unique" kits. None related to BF3 though.

Man, I could make so many puns right now.

I don't think it's the real list for France, it's simply impossible. Femme Actuelle is a fashion magazine and I can't see them selling a video game, even less a video game about war. I really don't see Lequotidien, Madmoizelle, 3 Suisses, AU Feminin, Evasion Coquine, Lequipe, Librairie Antillaise, StarZik sell the game too. Lequipe is a magazine about sport (football, rugby, etc), 3 suisses sell clothes, etc.

Dying to a guy with a repair tool was embarrasing but with this exclusive weapon of Evasion Coquine? I think I would quit the server immediatly.
