Sales figures through Steam
Some time over the weekend, Garry's Mod surpassed over 1 million units sold! Needless to say, Garry himself was more than a bit elated at the news.
Sometime over the weekend Garry’s Mod surpassed one million sales!
I know this isn’t exactly Minecraft’s 10 million 2.9 million – but this is a pretty big deal for me considering this all started off as a tiny tiny modification about 6 years ago. This is more than I could have ever expected or wished for!
Even though my name is on the Mod there are a lot of people that have helped out over the years – and GMod wouldn’t be where it is now without them. Particularly Valve & Steam – which made Garry’s Mod technically feasible – namely Erik J, Alfred, Jason H and Mike D. There have been countless contributors to Garry’s Mod over the years – whether it be people directly editing the code, submitting bug reports and fixes, creating mods, movies, screenshots, comics. Far too many people for me to name here.

Garry goes on to say that he was working on a big surprised update once the 1 million mark was hit but since it happened so quickly thanks to the recent sale, the update is not yet ready. So there are some more goodies to look forward to!
