Battlefield 3: Battlelog Screenshots Posted

Vreki brought us pictures of the Battlelog that will be available in Battlefield 3:

It seems the pictures were released on the official German Battlefield website and then were pulled. Battlefieldo.com was able to grab the pictures and post them up before that happened and now you see them here!

According to DICE, the Battlelog is the designated area for seeing your stats as well as squading up with friends and seeing real-time stats. Voice chat is also suppose to be possible along with creating "platoons" in the Battlelog. You can read a little more on this on kotaku.com

So looking at all the pictures, this seem like a good addition to Battlefield? Think it will work in bringing friends and communities together? Do you think it may be tied to Origin or does this look seperate? Hopefully when the English blog update is released, we will get more information.

Looking at those ranks it looks like its gonna take a while to level up.

Well I hope they use reall ranks and not made up ones like in BC2. I know that shouldn't affect the way I look at a game but it was a turn off for me.

Did DICE ever use real ranks though?

I know there were real rank pictures.

i wouldnt even be able to tell what's a real rank or not and im sure most of the people dont either

They used real ranks in BF2. They did omit some like the warrant officer ranks.

Yeah, but thats really close. I wonder why so many said that the ranks were wrong? Maybe because of the omissions?

Anyway, it looks like they are using real ranks, in the pictures anyway.

I think what bothered most people that got bothered by it; was the fact that post BF2, anybody could be max rank, while in BF2 some ranks, like General, were only available for people that got ribbons and medals before ranking up and in certain order; and all of them asked for an inordinate number of playtime hours that were borderline asocial.BF2142 cut down on the numbe of hours needed to get most medals and ribbons, and every rank was available for everybody; and BC2 lowered the requirements even more, so in a sense it's cheap now to be max level.

On the other hand, the unique ranks in BF2142 was usually held by obvious statpadders

What I would like:
*Unlocks based on class-specific xp
*Ranks based on general xp, maybe with some badge/award requirements for the higher ranks
*Award and badges for skill based achievements
*Careful, manual selection of the exclusive top ranks.

Basically everybody should be able to get the unlock they desire with a bit of work, while those who want to show off can go for badges

I remember most of my time was spent in a BF2: Special Forces server just sitting there for time so I could get a medal lol but it was sooooo worth it lol. Oh wait maybe it wasn't worth it lol.

The rank that has a 30 out beside it looks like a Sergeant Major rank. Now a Sergeant Major rank in BF2 was at level 11. So i am assuming that the ranking system will not be like BF2.

i didnt like the fact that the images of the achievs medals and weaps were the same as in bfbc2 xD . hope that's just an alpha feature and they update it with fresh new ones for bf3

It looks like they may have increased point values. Bigwizzie seems to have a SPM of 643.

I want the BF2 award music to play when I get stuff :p ahh the memories but yeh the images are purely placeholder, used from BC2 just to illustrate it, they will change
