New Look for PlayStation Network Being Tested

Current look to the PSN store

According to RegHardware, Sony is currently testing out a fresh design for the PlayStation Network that will be far more intuitive than the text heavy version currently in use. It's new layout will be more of an "image-driven layout" akin to services such as Steam and Xbox Live's Marketplace.

Those already testing the new look say that it is "an aesthetic layout with logically marked sections and rolodex lists." It will add in a live search, similar to the live search used by Google. The movies section will feel closer to an IMDB style format, with selected films offering up information on the movie, actors, and more on the right hand side of the screen.

Games will receive similar treatment in the store. Users can search based on genre, publisher, developer, and more. A "deals of the week" are also slated to be included and easily accessible by gamers.

The most immediate change to users will be the doing away of the blue background style. The new look will make use of "ultra bight colors on a black background."
