Call of Duty Updates From Activision

Activision announced several things regarding its most popular franchise, Call of Duty, on its earnings call today.

For starters, the next Call of Duty game (Activision did not confirm if this would be Modern Warfare 3) will have an accompanying "online universe." Activision didn't give any further details, but this could be connected to the new studio Beachhead's endeavor to provide "digital content" for the franchise.

Finally, Activision stated that it has no intention of monetizing features that players currently receive for free with Call of Duty.

before, about the time i heard about no dedicated servers for MW2.

yes i still bought BO, and that is a decision i am still regretting

I'm sure whatever game they are planning is still going to be immensely popular, but I've already noticed that there is a lot less hype for the next CoD, and very few "hardcore" gamers that I have talked to plan on buying it. Maybe it will pick up soon, but I think Black Ops was the peak of the series.
