Just noticed the similarities of some of those buildings to some of BF2's, namely the hotel.

Youre right! The hotel looks like that one on Karkand where the snipers liked to lay, at flag B.

As a whole, it looks a little like Mashtuur City.

The similarities might be because the building actually exists. Not saying it does, but maybe it does.

Besides - it looks better than BF2, and we're talking about a static object. So if they took the ol' hotel and gave it a facelift, I can't really blame them. Why create an entirely new hotel when you have a nice starting point already.

I never said there was anything wrong with it. Just porting the old model over with no additional work would have been bad, but it's nice to see some models similar to those in BF2, at least for the BF2 maps which will be in BF3.

We dont know. As of right now we only know its for the limited edition which is available via pre-order. There is a TON of time to pre-order though, so if you are not sure, I would wait until the beta, which isnt suppose to be that far off.

Sometimes limited editions can be purchased after release, so its hard to say.

Man I hope the remake some of the PLA maps like Dragon Valley and Daqing Oilfields. if it cost it WILL be the first DLC I've ever purchased.:cry:

One thing to note from this also is that IF the remade maps are of the same scale as the originals then it gives an idea of how large the maps might be.

That would be Karkand looks a bit more like the new Karkand-2142, there they also added the tall buildings.

In theory wake should have been blown out the water by now and replaced by a fake coral island made of jets.

all but wake are middle east maps... they had to add wake because it has been a BF tradition, nothing else. they shouldve made it an all middle east map pack, so that the next one can be china maps.
