Bad Company 2 R30 Server Released

DICE rolled out a new Battlefield: Bad Company 2 server build today (R30). Players do not have to do anything. If you own a server, ask your game service provider about updating.

• Some vehicles on Operation Hastings, Panama Canal CQ, White Pass CQ and Laguna Presa CQ did not get destroyed when left unattended. This has been corrected.
• Servers send player stats to the master servers less often (this reduces load slightly on the stats database)
• Fixed a major memory leak
• More protection against bogus data being sent from game clients

Though these fixes do not seem like much, they may actuall improve performance on servers and clients.

A major memory leak for who?

yea, any info on the "major memory leak"? anyone seeing smoother play on servers with more than 24 players?

For the servers. Servers start to lag out or jitter is probably due to that. Dont know for sure, but I have seen it a lot and not on very large servers either.

Ive noticed that after this patch, the Vietnam hit detection has been a TON better. Anyone else notice that?

What about BC2? Or was Vietnam worse than it before the patch?

I didnt have those issues when I played BC2. I played a few rounds the other day and didnt notice anything different for me.
