According to Joystiq, the not officially announced reboot of Halo: Combat Evolved apparently already has a release date. The developer said to be working on the reboot, Saber Interactive, has a tentative release date of November 15 of this year.
The reboot won't merely be an HD texture pack slapped onto the old game. Instead, it will feature all new art assets, updated controls schemes, 1080p visuals, and support for 3D gaming. It's speculated that it's not running on the engine that powered Reach. It is also possible that online co-op will be included, since the original included local co-op.
