Battlefield 3 Website and Box Art

    From the Battlefield 3 Website:

Battlefield 3 allows you to feel the full impact of battle like never before. Powered by Frostbite 2, the next generation of DICE’s cutting-edge gaming engine, Battlefield 3 delivers spectacular visuals, earth-shattering destruction and real as hell combat gameplay providing a dramatic immersive First Person Shooter experience. One moment you may be marching down a hilltop listening to the hypnotic sound of a firefight in the distance or admiring the way the light reflects off the smoke plumes of ground to air missiles rising from the city you’re about to engage. The next you’re on an urban street, surrounded, claustrophobic, fighting for your life and looking eight ways at once with all your senses on high alert, chilled at the knowledge that the building you’re hiding behind can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Welcome to Battlefield 3.

I know some of this news is redundant, but better to have redundancy than miss something

I will post this here also:

I swear, everyone is hating on the box art. Because BF2s box art was awesome? Who cares about the box art people? Does that change gameplay? Look at it this way, they are spending more time in the game instead of box art.

I do get the feeling of bad company by looking at the box art when i should get a BF3 feeling....I think a simple 3 like bf2 would of been more suspenseful and kept with the theme if this is supposed to be a BF2 successor but honestly, i dont care if there's just a red x on the box as long as the game play is solid.

Do you think maybe all the old farts who are never satisfied with anything that does not meet up to the glory and perfection that was BF2 would be happier if they just re-released BF2? Don't need to change ANYTHING at all. Just call it BF3 but use the same freaking box art and all identical gameplay and graphics. I think that's what they want.

bitching about someone bitching.....how original.......two people said they weren't happy with the box art and pointed out how it's eerily similar to BFBC2 rather than it's predecessor, calm down, they are correct, it does look much like the BFBC2 box art and intro screen and this game is not supposed to have anything to do with BFBC2.

glory and perfection of BF2....now you had me rolling with that one.

Re: Battlefield 3 Website and Box Art

Its not just the box art. People are already complaining about a number of things that no one, including me, have the answers to.

It gets old that they start to trash a game with no further information. JD_2020 posted about angry gamers complaining about things and most disagree with what was said but then you see it being done.

wtf are you on? Apparently you have it out for me in every thread.

I never said that the box art was NOT like BC2 box art, I just said that you shouldn't have a cow on account of it. So in your wrath you missed what I was trying to convey, not with "bitching," but with sarcasm.

Anyway, "not supposed to have anything to do with BC2:" who are you to dictate what BF3 is supposed to be? Is there some natural law that states that BF3 has to be the perfect successor to BF2 and not take anything from BC2? This is what I'm talking about. DICE is making the game and they get to make it however they please. I expect it's going to take a lot of elements from BC2 and combine them with elements of other BF2 games. Hell, it is using Frostbite 2.

The Battlefield series are games made by a company looking to make a profit. BC2 was very successful so I see no reason why they should ignore the successful elements of that game just because of what certain people like you say the game HAS to be like. The game has to be like nothing but what they make it to be like. Take it or leave it. If you don't like it, so be it, but don't gripe about it endlessly.

Addendum: don't take every comment so personally. Did you ever think that my previous comment wasn't directly solely at you? Perhaps it was a general statement.
