Last night, Sony released the v3.56 patch for all PlayStation 3 owners that added in additional security, presumably to stop homebrew and hackers from their dastardly ways.
Unfortunately for Sony, the latest update was hacked within hours of its release. According to console "hacker" KaKaRoToKs, he unpacked the latest update and was able to distribute the new signing security keys that were in the update.
It is expected that custom firmware that spoofs v3.56 will soon be made available as a result.
Last night's patch was rather large in size, with many users complaining about the time it took to download and install to their console.
