IW's 2011 CoD Prequel Rumor

Rumors are circulating on thisisxbox.com that Call of Duty development studio Infinity Ward (IW) will be making the 2011 Call of Duty title...as they normally do on the "odd" year. Up to now they have been sharing dev duties with Treyarch, but many have speculated that with so many of IW's staff leaving the studio in the aftermath of Zampella and West's firing, that IW might actually be folded into Treyarch or disbanded.
The rumors strongly refute this speculation.
thisisxbox.com quotes an informant that IW is working on an MW2 Prequel based on their MW2 character Ghost. Apparently, the game will involve the lead up to the war in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and then reveal Ghost's entry into Task Force 141.
As I confirmed with Activision tonight, the producer has up to now, never officially stated who is working on 2011's CoD game. All Activison has officially said is that Sledgehammer is working on a new CoD and that IW is also working on a new CoD.
There was talk some time back that Activision was trying to figure out ways to spin off the Ghost character. Could this be it? Is it just too soon to tell what work Infinity Ward is doing with Call of Duty?
