PC Community First to Win Battle for Hastings for Bad Company 2: Vietnam

As for 5am CST this morning the PC Community unlocked the fifth map in the Bad Company 2 Vietnam Expansion Pack, Battle for Hastings.

The map is a large jungle landscape with rivers cutting the area into sections with bridges and roads to lay ambush.

The Battle for Hastings started on December 22nd, after the release of the expansion on all platforms, around 9am CST making it possible for PC to get the 69 million team action points needed in only 7 days 20 hours. That comes to 36,7021 team action points an hour!

A team action point is achieved by performing the following:
    • Resupply
    • Revive
    • Heal
    • Spot
    • Repair

The Xbox 360 Community has 32,965,172 action points to go, in the lead of the PS3 Community with 41,936,582 action points needed.

Congrations again PC Community on the win and enjoy the new map!

So, what do you think of the map?
It seems fun enough, but I just played it on a 1000 ticket server, where one side spend half the round locked into their spawn.
I can see that happening a lot, because the spawn is right next to a flag, and only have two narrow exits for vehicles.
But on the other hand, they do have a safe spawn with two tanks so it is still possible to fight back

Maps good apart from the Spawn points in Rush mode there are a few issues, Defenders on the 1st stage sometimes spawn on a rock which you can fall into -.- .. last stage defenders spawn too close to B

Yeah, I dont like it. I dont know what it is, but it seems wide open. Like there is no cover or something. Its a big map and there are plenty of vehicles and vehicle choke points, but it seems unless you get a vehicle or hunker down, its not that much fun.

As for that stupid rock, I was able to hop out of it, but yeah, how could they have missed that in testing? Its annoying that I cant move unless I jump up and down a few times.

The other thing that bugs me about the Vietnam expansion as a whole is the out of bounds areas. You seem to go out of bounds before going into the dark area. I know you may be thinking, "So what, dont go there.", but I was actually trapped in Vantage Point because the map said it was safe and it wasnt. I couldnt climb out or outrun the timer.

Anyway, maybe it will get better as I play the map.

this map is amazing. i was happy to find a 24/7 phu bai server becasue i like open maps instead of the other linear maps, but now that hastings is out it rocks. this map is great becasue there are many helicopters to shoot down and tanks to pwn. plus my m1 kills anyone on the map.

A+ work on the map DICE i love it

It's different. Looking at the mini map the buildings are in different places, some shouldn't be there and what's with all this open space? The entire layout is different, this isn't Hastings, this is what used to be Hastings that DICE have ripped apart. This is just a rough outline of what Hastings was.

                  Need I remind some people:
