Update on Bad Company 2 Stats

Regarding the stats issues that have been occuring for some players on PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC Platform, here is an update on the issue.

The stats databases are being overloaded for the platforms since Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 are hugely popular with a lot of players playing online at the same time.

What is noteworthy though, is that although players seem to be losing their unlocks and rank progression, the stats are however logged on our side which means that no rank progressions or unlocks will be lost.

It also means that whatever stats you achieve in your current game, will be added to your stats after a few hours.

We are working on a permanent solution and to resolve this issue and we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

I love how they act like the problem is that there are too many players online.

There really aren't that many compared to some "other" games.

They're just unwilling to upgrade the servers, thus imposing a cap on their success. I really hope people remember this for the next game. EA doesn't WANT large numbers of PLAYERS. They just want large numbers of SALES.

Well I just looked and there were about 850,000 players online just now for the Xbox version of Black OPS.

I don't think there are that many people playing BFBC2 across all three platforms right now. More like 150k total across all three.

but they can always say their game is so popular and there were so many players that their servers got bogged down.
it's good press, even if it's negative for us.
