From mtv.com:
Activision and Xbox Live reaffirmed their BFF status yesterday by confirming a 360-exclusive release date for the first downloadable batch of new "Call of Duty: Black Ops" multiplayer maps. Dubbed "First Strike," the DLC will come out for Microsoft's console on February 1, 2011, with subsequent launches for the PlayStation 3 and PC later (presumably a month after, based on the way these things worked for "Modern Warfare 2"). The 1,200-MS point ($15) pack will come with Cold War and zombie venues, and will build outward from the core game, as well as upward.
"For DLC we really wanted to go bigger with some of the things we learned that people liked," Treyarch director of online Dan Bunting revealed on XBL's weekly Major Nelson podcast. "We focused a lot more on providing variety of weaponry, variety of engagement types, variety of verticality — a lot more verticality, bringing some sniper opportunities into it."
The multiplayer offerings will consist of four levels: "Berlin Wall," which will let you run around the general Checkpoint Charlie vicinity where the city was once divided; "Discovery," where you'll shoot up an abandoned German base in Antarctica; "Kowloon," a rooftop level set in China; and "Stadium," set in a good old fashioned American hockey rink.
"First Strike" will also bring a new zombie mode level to the table titled "Ascension." But there's precious little info available about that one for now.
Activision scored more than a million sales with their first DLC pack for "MW2," so the pressure will be on behind the scenes once again to see how this franchise installment performs by comparison. Thus far, it's been a retail juggernaut with nothing to be ashamed of marketplace-wise.
What are your thoughts on the release date? Too soon or not soon enough?

UPDATE: Kotaku mentions this for the next zombie map:

UPDATE: Kotaku mentions this for the next zombie map:
The new Zombie map sold in the $15 Call of Duty: Black Ops "First Strike" expansion will be called Ascension, according to an Activision press release. Any theories on what that means? First Strike will be available for Xbox 360 download on Feb 1; other platforms later.
