How do you rate a purely multiplayer game without playing it online with other people in the real world?

I'm sure MW2 MP was super awesome on an internal LAN. Same with any other game that has connection and latency issues. So how is it possible to rate that experience without experiencing it?

EDIT: Just saying that it reads as more of an advertisement than a review. And it mentions BF1943, almost as salt in the wound that it never made it to the PC after more than a year of broken promises.

If I don't have BC2 on steam, how will I be able to play Vietnam? Cos it says "Notice: Vietnam requires the base game Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Steam to play"...

Well, I suppose you could also buy it from EA store or Direct2Drive, but I like the first option better.

newsflash, big gaming site reviews aren't really worth trusting these days. they're mostly paid for, like you say, they're advertisements. for example, civ5 got great reviews from most big gaming sites (holds a 90 metacritic score) but the game was actually trash and not even worth a penny.

Yeah, you cant always trust this stuff for sure. I do like the critic and user scores on the game as well as the break down and videos inside the review though. Comment section is nice to go over and the blog also has a link to voting for IGN top ten by the users.

So its just not the rating, but everything extra with it.

I just read what are the bad/good points on several (severe) sites. Sometimes they add a big note but are more mitigated in what they say. Then I read opinions of forums users.

Also, IGN are borked. Metro 2033 isn't even nominated in the best visuals category. :/
