Kalo brought us a link from Planet Battlefield explaining how the R10 patch was leaked and people had time to check out the new maps before the test servers were shut down:

Earlier today someone discovered a build of the R10 patch (2.4 GB) for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 sitting on the EA download server. The unofficial patch spread to many sites and allowed some people to jump in a DICE test server (now down) and test out the new maps part of map pack 7. Some YouTube videos can be seen below.

DICE urges players not to install this since it is not the official release and there are no servers running the build. One player on the EA UK forums is even reporting being banned for playing this build.

The R10 Patch -

We urge players not to install the latest R10 Patch for which links are circulating on the internet, as it is not officially released and there will be no servers hosting this version.
The 7 servers currently running with the R10 Patch are for test purposes and will be closed down shortly.

If you have installed the R10 Patch, you need to uninstall Battlefield Bad Company 2 and go back to the R9 version if you want to enjoy the game before the official release.

we need 64 players or more to fill out these maps. these maps are far to big for 32 people

I think that is why devs dont do what the public asks. Everyone asked and asked for bigger maps now they jump on more players. Its not just you Patton, many have mentioned that. I just dont see it happening.

I hope everyone gets a vehicle on some of these big maps but somehow i think there will be infantry victums lol

i think the large map is sort of a testing bed for BF3. they're trying to see if frostbite can handle expanse maps. the test would be more informative if they upped the player count though.

The patch replaces a map and adds 4 others and fixes.
