If I'm allowed to kill people after they run behind cover - I should be able kill forum posts after they are submitted. Let's test:

        I like male genitalia.

That must be how you can get an accuracy of more than 100%, nifty!!

several bugfixes, the client<->server send rates have been increased

              What does that mean?

Might mean better hit detection or no more lag?

I don't think EA Support can fix something like that. You're going to have to do a /tracert and see where the bad hop is, then talk to your ISP to see if you've been rerouted recently or something. Maybe they can fix it.

Not too long ago all of my pings to Chicago servers more than tripled. I found out it was because of some maintenance or something that caused my traffic to route from Indianapolis to Atlanta to New York and then back to Western Indiana and finally to Chicago. Obviously, such a circuitous route is stupid and introduced a LOT of lag. One of the hops in New York also randomly held onto packets for a really long time every once in a while, causing packet loss and huge lag spikes.

After about three weeks, the maintenance was complete and my pings went back down to their usual 15-20ms instead of the 50-70ms I had during the "dark times."

You could be seeing something like that.

The first thing to do is get the IP of a server nearby that you like to join. Then hit Windows Key + R and type in cmd and hit Enter. In the command prompt type "tracert 68.232.167.116" (my clan's Vent server on the east coast as an example) without quotes. See if there are any hops that have a really high ping and then head to http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp to see the general area of where that IP is. Sometimes it's not accurate and gives you where the HQ of the company who owns the IP is located, but many times it gives a pretty good idea of the geographic location.

If you see hops that are WAY out of the way, or some with outrageous pings, call your ISP tech support and explain it to them. Either they'll inform you of maintenance that should be fixed soon, or they'll reroute your connection, or they might have to send a tech out to fix faulty wiring or other hardware in/near your house.
