Have to give it to them: TreyArch seem to like bigger maps compared to IW. UO and W@W both had some much larger maps thrown in there when compared to CoD4 and even CoD2. The only "big" map in MW2 was originally from CoD, none of the actual "new" MP maps are much more than shoeboxes of pain and spammage.

I think this could end up being a good game, and I don't want to color my opinion of the CoD franchise based on one game that IW ruined. TreyArch didn't make MW2, they made W@W. Since W@W ended up being a pretty good game after its growing pains, I expect Black Ops to be pretty good, too. Maps like Jungle will help that along, I think.

I am kinda wondering whether the guns are ridiculously overpowered or the player we see is just really good because he didnt die once even when exposed to two or 3 enemies who got the drop on him first.

I am kinda wondering whether the guns are ridiculously overpowered or the player we see is just really good because he didnt die once even when exposed to two or 3 enemies who got the drop on him first.

No, he was the designated camera guy so they held back. You can see a number of spots where they stopped firing or hesitated way too long for it to be a player.

A lot of different weapons in this video also. Showing a little more footage.

I also thought W@W was great. Its a shame so many didnt bother with it, but the WW2 thing made a lot of people not want to along with CoD4 still being very playable and modern.

Looks awful... Just spray and preying while aimlessly running around. Like a re-skinned COD4 but with no recoil or tactics.

That's all any shooter is on the consoles, though. Notice how he strafes instead of adjusting his aim a bunch of times?
Those clips are supposed to show how "action packed" the game will be. Constant shooting, 'asplosions, stabby moves...

I doubt it would play out the same way on PC against people with mice.

As far as the "reskinned CoD" comment: They aren't making a new engine any time soon. It's not going to happen. You might as well quit complaining about that part.

And here I thought the D-Pad on screen gave away that, that was the console version they were demoing.

Looking good though, wondering how much better it will look on PC.

I was referring to the style of movement and gameplay. Watch a video of someone playing CoD on PC, then watch a video of someone playing on X360. You'll see that the controls on the consoles nudge people into certain ways of moving around maps and how they play. It's a different environment on the PC.

That map looks pretty nice. Treyarch's maps are usually of higher quality than IW's. The only things I don't like about the video is all the stuff popping up and how they kept replaying the same 5 clips over and over again >.

Yep, looks like the other latest CoD games.

OK, so here is the Jungle map. People are saying that there is no sniping maps. What happened to this one? Is it too fast paced or does the video make it seem bigger than it is?

Actually Jungle ISNT THAT BAD for sniping. Simply because if you look hard enough there are a lot of hidden ladders that get you up top on some of the cliff sides and rock faces.
