I think guns are still unlocked at rank. Treyarch has not released a lot more information on everything that can be bought, so that could be wrong.

Yeah but if you can unlock any gun right from Level 1, you could buy the most OP gun known to mankind and just rape with that one and not care about the others... Which would make the game blow...

I just typed out a long post, but I realized I can't really explain what I am thinking.

Basically, the basis of the point system is that no gun is overpowered, but they each have areas were they excel and areas where they do not, making them balance out overall. In old games, they had to balance the guns so that the last unlock was better than the first unlock, which may not have been true necessarily. Now they don't have to worry about sorting the guns out into a tier system, but instead can focus on each guns strong point and make that the advantage of using that gun.

There shouldn't be a gun that is the most OP known to mankind. Of course, some guns are going to be more powerful than others, but that would happen anyway. I probably only used 5-10 of the primary guns that were in MW2. Most I just blew off because they sucked compared to the OP guns.

Well, based on the create a class videos, all the guns were available for purchase. The max level was only 20-something, so they obviously did not rank up all the way. Unless it was something special to allow them to try out all the guns (which would seem unlikely, because then why would they need a level cap?), then all the guns are available at once. But I don't know, this is all just rumors.

Thats true on the create a class video. Maybe they are setup in sections. Level 20 gets X number of weapons, then the next level gets further. The videos I saw on youtube didnt show weapons as an option to unlock.
