Yeah, but what if there is a guy with a 30KD and 90% accuracy who's legit, but people see his stats and go OMG HAXOR!!!1!!1111!!1oneone and report him and he does indeed end up getting banned?

But on the boosting note, I couldn't care less if people boost. It's a way of playing the game, a dull one, but let them waste their lives, whilst I can find some humiliatingly funny way to rape them in the process.

I didnt understand that oversight. It seems to be in every CoD game :/

Glad this got a revive. Is this all working? Are cheaters "bewared"?

They had to patch the servers as they left the point system open again. An oversight, but still.

I was playing around with the theater mode in Black Ops and I can see now how they can have an all seeing eye. All you have to do is click on someones name and all the their game from launch are viewable.

No game company will ever be able to fully stop cheating, glitching, boosting, or hacking. No matter how flawless they think their security is there is always a loop hole somewhere and a person able to discover that loop hole and make it public. It would be great if they cut down on those things but to completely eliminate them, i believe is a little out of the realm of reality...

Sweet! They are finally taking the initiative to stop the hackers/boosters. Sadly, that puts an end to booster hunting, making their ability to find boosters useless, unless they make a system so people can show video of them boosting, to get them reported to Microsoft/Sony and have proof of it happening from a player's perspective who wants to be a "Good Samaritan" and help the community, so I applaud Treyarch for this plan. Bravo!

Good thing they're taking it seriously. It's really an impossible problem to fix, though. There will always be a quickest, easiest way to level up and that's what people will do.

well if there plan works i think it will keep the console side in check for a little bit but it will only be till someone fines a hole in the system.

Glad they have the console side figured out, I guess.

Cheaters and Boosters Beware in Black Ops

Treyarch says they are determined to stop those who cheat, boost, and stat pad in Call of Duty: Black Ops. NowGamer has learned from Treyarch's Dan Bunting that anti-cheating measures will be the "most stringent" that the series has ever seen.

"We have a lot of anti-cheating, anti-boosting stuff going on behind the scenes, so we are monitoring that," Bunting assured us. "We're going to have a very heavy hand in the online security of our game."

"We're taking it very seriously. We had an engineer dedicated pretty much from the storat of the project to it."

Cheaters won't be able to hack their hardware to get around this either claims Bunting, "If people hack their hardware, we've got the ability to detect that and report them to Sony or Microsoft."

Hopefully this cuts down on a lot of the crap legitimate gamers have been having issue with in Modern Warfare 2 with respect to hacked servers, low gravity, rapid fire RPG's, and more.
Working...
