The "map" pack is to be released on both console and PC.

It seems sadly clear that the only true new maps are going to be with paid expansion packs.

In making it a tactical shooter, they removed diversity and lessened the role of team strategy. Take 3 BF:BC2 maps, put them together with 1 or 2 flags per map. Put some cool country roads to connect the maps and some big bases on each side. Insert more vehicles and jets with enhanced physics and flight control. Boom. BF3.

Experiment confirmed - The new engine is nice on the PC. Now give us a PC game that embraces that which put DICE on the map.
