Film critics will be over-joyed to hear that Nintendo has been approached with requests of transferring some of their big franchises to the silver screen. That one sentence is enough to send shivers down one's back. Remembering the Super Mario Bros. movie with terrible memories, these propositions are not exactly what any theatre goer would like to hear. Read on:
It's nice to know that Nintendo isn't immediately jumping at the money, instead understanding the possible disasters that could happen with movie adaptations. Though, the idea of a Zelda movie is still quite appealing.
"The message is, 'Thank you for the interest,'" Fils-Aime said about Nintendo's response to studios. "There have been certain [people] that we have talked in more detail with. But I think in the end, because we are a content company and are passionate about our franchises, it will be few and far between that actual deals are done to bring our franchises to life in a different way. These are our children."
