Join the fight now! The Battlefield Bad Company 2 Squad Pack is now available on Steam! Buy 4 copies of the game for the price of 3 and gift the extra copies to your friends. This special will expire on April 2.

Steam has had this up a few times and had some issues with it, but looks like it is up and running now.

Re: Steam Squad Pack Available for Bad Company 2

For a very new game, with decent popularity, this is ridiculous. and such a clear contrast to what Infinity ward is doing with MW2. The first Bad company DLC pack being free, isn't a big deal, they are just maps with new game play styles put into them, but they are free at least, where as the two maps in the first MW2 DLC which are just old COD 4 maps touched up for this new version of the game should be free, and the 3 actually new maps should be $10 the same price as most COD5 map packs, even cheaper now, and the price for the Bf2 map packs.

I've had my shaking fist moments at Dice's behavior for the games I enjoyed before this BF2 and 2142. This however is a very good move on both Dice's and steam's part for the customer, unless you happen to have issues with steam. If you do, try to just imagine going to a store, or garbing it off D2D or whatever serving this up for a game out less then a month 4 for 3, thats aggressive pricing.

The only pissy move is the VIP release day pack, that used console players need to pay. However as someone thats still playing Bf2, largely irrelevant.

$150 / 4 = 37.50, 19 days ago it was released and it pulled in 2.3 million copies (thats the number I've seen) mostly on PC, so around 1 million, and if not it most likely be by the time this sale runs out, especially with the map pack coming out 4 days before this sale ends.

This move is about building a community, that will also hopefully stick around for DLC that isn't free, but if it's priced reasonably after a move like this, especially the people buying these map packs if they like the game will gladly grab something like a 3 map for $10 pack, since it would only make the total cost so far, 47.50. in a couple month, maybe 6 maps for $20, maybe a new vehicle, couple unlocks, a serious booster pack, or just a $30-40 proper expansion. they can make the long term of this game more important then the up front sales as long as prices stay reasonable to prevent community fragmentation. If the main game and the DLC also go on sale every now and then, people will be inclined to eat it up even if they don't stick around for the long haul.

I thought batman for $25 around Christmas was a nice move but this takes it a bit further.

Decent and cheap make a lot of people happy.

      Cool deal.

Just noticed Steams price went back down to $50 US again.
