CoD 7 Rumor Confirms Cold War Era

This article is on bashandslash.com. I know that we all have heard the cold-war rumor, but there is some added information this time around:

Tek9.org is quoting Activision sources regarding the new Call of Duty 7, to be released in November, and they are saying it will be set somewhere between WWII and present day.

Of this there should be no doubt. Activision has hinted that it would leave WWII behind months ago. In addition, Infinity Ward (the other CoD develepor) had a contract stipulating that they would create all CoD games set in the modern and post-modern era. Thus, the only thing open to Treyarch would be to settle the game in the post-War era.

In addition to this information, Tek9 states that their sources have confirmed that some missions will be set in Cuba and at least one in South America.

You will apparently be able to play as a member of the SAS (Special Air Service) and one of those missions will take place in London, at the Iranian embassy in the 1980s.

Tek9 has apparently confirmed that Call of Duty 7: Black Ops will feature the zombie mode.

And finally, to no one's surprise, dedicated servers will also be part of the new Call of Duty game -- a fact that can be independently confirmed by BASHandSlash.com.

Unfortunatly the source page bashandslash.com put up is no longer available. Fortunatly, Jockyitch is a pretty reasonable fellow and I doubt he would just post up anything willy-nilly. Unfortunatly, no official word from Activision or Treyarch on this.

If A-vision goes back to COD2 style they will be making a huge mistake, but without the IW guys, what else can they do? I hope they go to Vietnam Era with the series and keep the MW2 gameplay. Heck, by going from WWII to modern so soon where else is there to go but back?

You know IW is not the only one that can make a CoD game. Treyarch used to be Greymatter and they pushed the CoD engine further than what IW did their first time. Not to mention fixing prestige mode, adding co-op and a zombie game on top of all that, multiple free DLCs to boot.

Maybe they should make a future war fare...... that would be really hard but i really like the idea of bringing back zombies i mean that was my favorite part in COd waw also i think they need to make more maps

I dunno, im interested. If they are going to the Iranian embassy we should expect the MP5 to make a return. I expect: The M16A1/A2 (whichever time period they choose), the G3, the 1911, the AK (I wish they would chuck in the 74 instead, or as an option.) and possibly a few others.
