there are no nade fests in plenty of 64 player maps. just because few urban infantry maps are nade fests in 64 player mode, doesn't mean all other BF maps will be the same. the expanse vehicular maps (which make BF series what it is) don't really suffer from nade spamming very much even at 64 players.

      there's BF outside of karkand/gibraltar.

huh are you saying 64 bit OS will allow 64 players? LOL, even if it did, you really think they'll make BF3 so that it requires 64bit OS? more people have 32bit although many of us have 64bit.

im not just saying its a fact dude, 64 bit is alot faster it would be stupid from DICE not to take advantage of it.

yea 64 bit is faster for somethings but i don't think games have really taken advantage of it yet. hopefully by BF3's time they will figure it out.

                How much is "a lot"?
The 64-bit version of Windows Vista operating system is for about 10.9 percent faster than 32-bit Vista, according to the GeekBench benchmark for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms.
And I don't think we will see minimum requirements in excess of 4GB for quite some time, so that part of 64 bit doesn't do much either.

Of course 64 bit is a lot faster but face it there are not many programs written for a 64 bit operating system. Most if not all are 32 bit programs.

im sure bf3 will be 64 bit compatible and taking full advantage of it. For now only in 3d programs u can tell the big difference between 32 bit os and 64 bit, i work with 3ds max 2009 and i can tell you that its far more stable on 64 and renders faster, and of course only 64 bit supports 8gb memory and even more.

I believe that interviewer has always been like that. I would love for someone to try and get 64 players through a hack or something. Atleast try and get as many as possible.

consumers will not get the server files though will they?

Why is everybody so concerned about server files? Do you host LANS every week? Did you ever set up a BF2 server on your computer? Was it able to handle 12 players without lagging?

Exactly, the big draw for these games is to play on ranked servers - the only time I don't is when I play a mod like Project Reality.

There won't be any mods for this game.

System resources for effects vs. player count is a matter of design.

Seriously? Yes. Am I allowed to be concerned about server files now?

After playing COD MW2 the Battlefield series seems so much better :) No cramped areas, lots of vehicles, so many different roles you can play.
