Interview with Gordon van Dyke on Single Player of Bad Company 2

Gamereactor.com had an interview with Gordon van Dyke. Here is what they had to say:

    <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PUT70pR1TFs&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PUT70pR1TFs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
We caught up with producer Gordon van Dyke at EA DICE in Stockholm to talk about the single player campaign among other things.

So does this answer more questions? I still see the mentioning of Modern Warfare 2. Is that surprising or is this going to be the norm for a while? Anything else catch your attention? Maybe not mentioning the red headed step-child that is 2142?

dunno if a 32 player BF should set the new standard for BF on PC.

I dunno if you have played frostbite, but it already has.

Anyone who thinks 64 players is better than tactical destruction, needs to stick with the old games and stop trying to influence game design.

I hear you there, but I'm sure it will be fun. Hope BF3 sets a massive PC standard. But BC2 will certainly be much much fun.

No PC demo then or was he just inferring to the certification process on the consoles?

Of course their main target is MW2 players, don't know if they can get them to jump ship or not.

If 2142 is the red headed stepchild of the Battlefield series what does that make Battlefield Heroes? :dead:

no nadefest in BC2 because everyone has 1 nade. which is a better solution than to reduce playernumbers isn't it? -.-

yup exactly. and its not that they dont want to make more players, its just that they have technical restrictions with the engine so far, but with BF3 will benefit of the 64 bit os systems so that will be different. so just stfu and enjoy the game until bf3

He reminded me of Shy Ronnie from SNL.

You can't bash me without a name?

What will you bash me on? Once you play tomorrow you'll see that i'm right.

Frostbite will make you forget all about bf2 and 64 players.

Then you'll be hoping for more bandwidth or super streamlined coding of the packets so Destruction + higher player count fits in the pipe line's for BF3.

But you won't go back to the 0's, that decade is over pal
