Ubisoft has revealed that the next piece in the Assassin's Creed puzzle has already been announced. The company has confirmed that the next title in the series will have an online multiplayer component but did not name any specifics beyond this point.
Ubisoft noted that the next title will appear during the next fiscal year for the company, which places the game's release at some point between 2010 and 2011. The company has also noted that Assassin's Creed II has sold over 6 million units since its release and by March the company expects that figure to hit 9 million units.
"The 2010-11 line-up will be more focused on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the consoles which are expected to experience sustained sales growth in games for gamers in calendar 2010. Other new franchises and innovations will also be announced throughout the year."
