Update on BF1943 and 2142 Patch

Looks like just about everything is taking a bit of a back seat to Bad Company 2. Does that seem like a good course of action? Will 1943 stand on its own with its small content and price?

As long as it mean we get a Retail version of BF:BC2 and not a BETA. It's fine with me.

IMHO, I think that's a little bit stupid of EA (releasing 1943 AFTER BC2) because everyone will be playing BC2 and not caring about 1943 'cos it's old news and more of a "time filler" (if you know what I mean) and everyone will be caught up in the hype of BC2.

However, if they released it before BC2, loads and loads of people would buy it because of that hype and wanting to try out the Frostbite engine on PC. Also, when BC2 does launch, EA would have more money because of those 1943 sales...

I agree with that thinking as well Xandao, UNLESS about the same time they release 1943 they also release DLC for the consoles and include it in the bundles, making it a larger game. Free or not, I dont know.

So then you have BC2 and then this filler game that just became a bit larger.

Or maybe some wont bother with BC2 and would rather have a frostbite original Battlefield experience. So you have some going one way and another the other direction.

It's not a question of what is wiser, more of a question what will bring them the most profit/revenue...
(as the economy still has not recovered) shifting focus on BC2 is best choice financial wise.
