Xbox 360 Free Left 4 Dead 2 Weekend Planned

Valve and Microsoft are teaming up to give Xbox Live Silver members a little cause for celebration. For the weekend of January 15 through January 17, all Silver Live members who own Left 4 Dead 2 can play online for free.

While there may not be too many Silver members out there who would buy a primarily online title, it's still a nice gesture to the fans. If you do own Left 4 Dead 2 and are only a Silver member, get ready to have your socks rocked.

Xbox Live Silver
Xbox Live Silver will be free for all Xbox 360 owners with broadband and a hard drive or memory unit. Silver subscribers will be able to:

Browse the Xbox Live Marketplace
Access Xbox Live Marketplace downloads and Xbox Live Arcade games (premium content will still require payment to be downloaded)
Create Gamertags and Gamer Profiles
Use voice and text messaging
Download new levels for games
Watch (but not participate in) multiplayer online gaming
Xbox Live Gold
Xbox Live Gold subscribers will have access to all features of the Xbox Live Silver, as well as the additional features listed below.

Ability to participate in multiplayer online gaming
Enhanced matchmaking and feedback tools
Exclusive privileges and rewards in the Xbox Live Marketplace

So basically, Silver people cannot play online, only spectate.
