402 Announces Update

While no release date has been posted, gamers will be happy to know that an update will be coming soon to resolve a multitude of issues. No details about the solutions have been posted, however, especially about issues such as the texture 'hack' on PC, where players were able to modify client side data in order to gain an advantage.

As posted on 402's Twitter account, "Update in Test now: 1887s Balanced. Public "private" Match fix. Infinite Ammo fix. Prestige Hack on PS3 fix. Texture Hack on PC fix."

Little more than a month after release, Modern Warfare 2 has been plagued with an overwhelming amount of problems, from basic glitches such as superhuman running speeds to infinite ammo on the Xbox version of the game. Hopefully this news will give players some solace in knowing that they can soon return to a more balanced game.

The Xbox 360 version will be getting the same, just waiting on ETA on it's release. PC gets same plus fix for hacked textures & altered IWDs about 2 hours ago from Tweetie #MW2 PS3 patch just went live! Includes the Akimbo 1887s re-balancing, fix for Prestige hack, & fix for Public "private" Match. 360/PC soon

The funny thing is he says "1887's balanced" - but wasn't the game designed to be balanced? Often times what the developers perceive as balanced and what actually goes on in public play are two very different things, so I'm surprised that he didn't release more details concerning the exact changes.

An immature response like that doesn't solve any situation.
These glitches and bugs take time to fix, they are not instant so you need to be patient.
Yes, IW could have designed it better, I am not denying that. But if you want action to be taken, using an excuse like "The game isn't balanced for fixing glitches" is not the way to go. And hey if you don't like it, it is pretty simple... do not play.

He's just saying what a lot of us are thinking. When their excuse for removing features was balance, and the game came out completely imbalanced, what are we going to think? I don't trust a damned thing that man says anymore. His own community moderators called him out for being a scrotetacular douche. He then demoted one of them and belittled the others.

While it's understandable that fixing things takes time, we also know that a lot of the port work to the PC was done right before release. Like, a couple of weeks prior. So they did it to themselves. It seems like they spent more time drawing drug-related callsigns than they did working on the PC version.

The man pretty much summed up IW-s biggest mistake to you in one sentence. How much more do you need? :laugh:

Anyway, their arrogance has pretty much lead them to think they know better than the community does. Grant Collier specifically said that they worked closely with modders and the community to see which features the game had to have in order to be good. The result was the most balanced multiplayer FPS game of all times, with every feature anyone could ever want and need (except CODTV and SDK).

MW2, the IW thought they knew better than the community, and the BestBoy transcripts really showed how little they not just cared, but thought of the community. Bowling himself even said (through PR lingo, of course), that they dont need suggestions from the community because they know better. And what came out is one of the most featurerich piece of garbage in videogames history.

I see where you guys are coming from and I understand.
I do not see however myself as a "Lap dog" or "Arse kisser" of IW. I know you wont agree with me on that which I am okay with. It is difficult to express how I feel on this issue over a forum.
Yes I am arrogant sometimes and a very critical person and not one to hate. Yes IW made mistakes but I aren't going to shun them because of that, I will just buy with caution next time. I guess I am just fed up with all the "hate" posts people put here.
