Patch 1.06 Released for Xbox 360

With the PC community receiving the much needed patch over a week ago, Xbox 360 players will be happy to know that they too will be seeing the update sometime today. According to Robert Bowling's twitter account, the issues have been officially patched for the system, and that the "latest patch just passed certification. They just need to push it live. Goodbye Javelin glitchers."
    Patch 1.06 fixes
    • Javelin glitch
    • Care package glitch
    • Addresses areas where players could glitch into objects
Also, it is interesting to note that while players using the glitches on both the PS3 and PC were not reprimanded in any way, Xbox Live had been issuing temporary bans to those who abused the exploits. Finally, on Saturday Bowling tweeted that "MW2 on PS3 just got update 1.05 which includes some improvements to matchmaking. Patch 1.06 is still coming down the pipeline."

Here's the issue - apparently there's two glitches that relate to the care package. One is the increased run speed, and the other is the "infinite care packages" - which I have never heard about. When Bowling made the announcement, he referred to it as the "care package glitch," but from what I gather, the run speed has not been addressed on the PC version, meaning that the infinite glitch would be fixed.

I would much prefer a speedy knifer then infinite crates, at least they addressed that issue.

Generally speaking they don't care about speed glitches, as all of them have not been addressed or fixed in their last game. I don't either, infinite care packages means alot of pain in my hind.

Most of the major patches for the xbox 360 and PS3 will have already shown up on the PC about a month before they hit the consoles. This is because of 2 things, one approval process and two we are there testing bed. Now this isn't that bad of a thing, the javelin glitch was addressed and then fixed on the PC, where it took how long to fix on the consoles?

well for one, major or minor patch, it does not matter, the process is going to take the same,
two, XBOX and PS3 have completely different set ups towards the way they roll out patches, PS3 pretty much instantly and 360 taking about a week - not a month lol,
three, im guessing you play MW2 on PC, and have no experience with MW2 on consoles, just my guess but who no's, you seem to think you no everything, im only assuming from the pathetic POS post you made, reading this, you'll probly think im a console fanboy?
four, this topic is about the MW2 1.06 patch, and in your post, you,...generally speaking (lol), completely ridicule consoles and try to make a point with the intentions of a rhetorical question, pathetic, next time you post, make sure you no wat your talking about ATLEAST

the only bad thing about MW2 for 360 would be that 1.05 has not been released yet although 1.06 and 7 has, (i hear its because of a firmware issue but i have no idea)

WTF are you talking about, I'm speaking in general about all platforms. I just said that IW does not care about speed glitches from past experiences, namely COD4 where all speed glitches still work fine (there are 2 glitches associated to the Care Package). PCs versions are being used as the test bed for a lot of the fixes and patches right now, there is no approval process thus fixes are pretty much instantaneous and so are the consequences. When they do patches for the consoles they tend to wait and do several fixes at the same time (cumulative patch), unlike the PC where they just roll out as they come up.

Re: Patch 1.06 Released for Xbox 360

I've been searching the webs for news of a fix for the infinite carepackage glitch but haven't found anything yet. I know nothing about the patch numbers or anything of that type, I can only say from experience (xbox 360), as of last night, it's still in full swing.

Always fun to find a whole clan of MW2 players on one team, each and every one using the same glitch to drop airstrike after airstrike with the oh so lovely stealth bomber coming in shortly behind. It's bogus and, IMO, a lax and pathetic oversight by the game's creators. Simply put, if a 12 year old can get on xbox and figure out how to work these glitches, what does that say about the designers?

All bitching aside, the glitch is still in effect as of late Jan 31.

As for the ******* that likes to complain about others trying to share information, there's no need to leave a reply to tell me how I don't know patch numbers and have no idea what I'm talking about. I won't be back to read it.
