Ahh this is where I step in and give the masses input on EA's development cycle.

Lighting, means that its at least alpha, after alpha is beta, then final, then done

So it will be completed development wise within a few months.

considering there behind on 1943 and bc2 will be delayed,frostbite is not ready!.

I would say a while away.But maybe just but!, they actually read these forums they might see PC fans want it or deserve it(work on our platform first for a first?).

Ovcourse after its old on consoles first

BF3 is rumoured to be on the Frostbite 2 engine yes?

but as for the thread, lighting ain't simple with todays games, unless you got a nice succulent code base to chew on

and then there is dx11 to consider

Very good find... and yea, lighting means Alpha guise. Which also means BF3 probably sooner than you think.
