It seems like the playlist model just fragments players even more than a server browser did. Some lists I can't get into a game for 5 minutes after lobby merges, host migrations, people leaving and more getting "matched." Then it picks a host where no one has better than 100ms ping.
Which playlists actually have people playing them?
You and about everyone else. I'm happy with TDM and S&D, were the best 2 HC modes. All the other modes just became to chaotic, especially HQ and Domination, if they ever did CTF that might be interesting with an organized group.
seriously if you guys haven't tried HC, try it. everything is 100x more tactical and pace of play is slowed down from the ADD arena style gameplay of standard. i love how everyone is so careful when they move and every move made requires a lot of thinking.
what s the point of hardcore enyways ? when you can kill some1 in softcore whit 3 bullets ?
its more than bullets. no hud, no constant minimaps. it slows down the game to a more tactical match. the standard mode is too fast paced, ADD style for my taste; it often turns the game into basically a Q3/UT arena game with modern weapons/skins.
I have actually played so much hardcore mode on Cod4, when ever I play a game with a hud it almost feels out of place. Also, I find that hardcore modes except for S&D are way faster than any mode in softcore.

All of that could of been discribed in one word: "CAMPING". Even though it is my favorite way of playing, most of the play is picking unwary wouderers.
