I bought all DLCs for the battlefield games and I have to agree, the problem for me in the end was not the price, it was the fact that it is tearing the community apart which led to nearly no servers with those maps.

Yeah, if they originally released it for everyone you would see a lot of northern strike, heck i would have got it but at the time i wasn't allowed to buy online games (i was 13). It was cheap but i feel it was EA just trying to skim a few extra dollars. This and only some people having it left NS to be unpopular.

good ol 2142 havent played it in a while. I had NS also I won it in a sniping comp and as for Goliaths I was the Aussie Goliath Destroyer I single handedly dominated that piece of ****.

They are not as versatile as the gunship missiles, but I think they do the same damage. How would you take down a goliath with 2 missiles?

On the changes, pretty good, but I think by now they shouldn't really be adding any fan made maps, or at least give someone else a try besides this Jason Brice fellow. Shingle was the only modestly successful custom map from what I have seen, and I dont like having maps in a game that are never played.

new update from baza earlier today:

You will be glad to know that all of the maps fit with the Battlefield 2142 theme.

To answer some other questions:

* Server stability fix is in BF2142 v1.51 so should see a stop to the crashing servers exploit
* There is no release date yet because as I mentioned earlier, I'm waiting for the programmer from BFBC2. So until he is back on BF2142 I can't estimate how long he will take to finish the update. There has been closed beta testing of the update with Combat Studios which is why we know of the major loading bug we have to deal with.
* Operation Blue Pearl is Assault Lines
* There are currently no extra Titan maps included.
* Mac will get this update as quick as it can be converted from PC to Mac. This process isn't done by DICE so we will leave 1.50 servers running for Mac players until 1.51 comes out for the Mac. Then all 1.50 ranked servers will be shut down.
* crysis40 there are fixes, mainly around stability and account security. As previously mentioned 1.50 was the main BF2142 update. 1.51 is a minor increment update to fix the security issues. We just threw in 3 maps for you. Not too bad for an incremental update really.

nice, we been putting up with server exploit and spoofing for a year and a half...thats all we should really care about. Nice to see the extra stuff for sure.

all the talk about the lack of programmer is worrying me though. we might have to wait longer than expected, especially if they're trying to have him finish his work on BC2 before coming back to finish up 2142.

Yes I think it was just you. Operation Shingle is one of the best maps in the game.

operation shingle i dont like it all, thats the problem with every battlefield games, we have 8 maps to choose from and theres always just 1 or 2 max 3 which is fun to play on the rest is not so good

I sure hope they give fixing the kit saves a thought, and squeezing this update in before the end of the decade would be nice as well.
