To be quite honest, Activision and IW know that the PC community is clever. I can guarantee you they saw this coming ages ago and already have something planned to stop it happening.

We are not going to get off that easy.

How can they stop us once we have a game that can't be controlled via steam? All people need to do is put the cracked game up on dedicated boxes and have people with the same game connect - nothing they can do other than attempt to shut off the boxes.

They know the PC community is clever, but they don't care. If they cared about how we felt they would have given us more than a blatant console port with no additional features - even the "new" IW.net is just the same xbox matchmaking system in a PC skin.

Although IW is the town whore right now, this could be something much less sinister than a pre-packaged DLC.

I honestly cant see IW letting people have access to the DLC and sit back and watch it happen as people crack and start to play it with them cashing in on none of it.

Iff all of you guys want to try those modes, go to a Frontlines Mod server near you and see all the new game modes available in COD4.

My favorite is the Rescue mode, where a Spy spawns as one off the enemy and we have to cover him at and at the same time dont letting the prisoners scape.

Has the Vip mode also, but rather play new stuffs.

Where there is the will, there will be a way!
When it does happen I'll get the game.. can you imagine how pissed off Activision and IW are going to be when they lose control of their game? Serves em right in my opinion.

Do not **** with the PC community.

Anyways, on topic, I hope IW doesn't charge for this, I really do, because If they do bad things will happen. I actually wouldn't be surprised if a good chunk of MW2 PC players crack the game away from steam to implement console/dedicated server/etc.

Can wait for that one to happen. There hasn't been a game lately, that hasn't gave me a message about migrating host or some other BS. Love the game but I need my dedi. servers.

IW can't touch anyone outside the US. You think that russian hacker is gonna be impressed by their empty lawsuit threats?

I think they're more concerned with MW3 or whatever is coming in the future.

I sitll haven't bought the first CoD4 DLC on the 360, so I sure as hell won't buy DLC for PC!

Its not unknown for games to contain dead code. A while ago someone got real excited about finding walker code in BF:H, but it was of course just a leftover from BF2142.

Logically speaking, there is nothing wrong with the DLC already being ready at release day, as long as the game still has enough content to stand on its own.

That doesn't change the fact that people will be screaming mad about it.

But it is wrong to charge the PC community $10 more for less game and then include content that requires more money with the release. What's even more frustrating is that rather than patching existing issues, IW is more concerned about locking down the console even further to prevent people from unlocking that content.
