32 players is perfect. The game was fun with 24, but pushing it to 32 should make it even more enjoyable tbh.

what's to stop them from enlarging the maps to fit more players?

32 is a good number for 1943 maps. The orignal maps were designed for 32 and they had a bit more depth with classes and equipment. So 32 on these maps with some expanded statics and features still works out great for this product.

Then Dice was wrong when they released this? Either Gordon or the Pr guys at dice messed up.

"The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer beta will feature the Arica Harbor map, where up to 24 players can compete in one of the game’s four intense multiplayer modes called Rush. This new map displays a superb balance of vehicle and infantry combat, as the American assault unit attacks the Russian army base with full force, advancing further through a beautiful desert town and towards the industrial area in a desperate attempt to overtake the Arica Harbor. Heavy vehicle warfare on the first bases gradually turns into an intense infantry fight as the level progresses, showcasing this best-in-class online war experience.

In December 2009, DICE will invite players to participate in a PC open beta."

Not a fan of ramming more players into a server just "because we can".
Who said you need to play on those kinds of servers? No one did, so why would you complain? lol

People, like you, seem to think that "player limit" means "this is the ONLY number of players servers will run". It's really annoying.

32 players per server is a great limit, while 64 i feel may be just a tad over 32 seems reasonable and adequate. It offers a real "team feel" while not competing against half of New Zealand.

Just got $5 off my pre-order for BF1943

We can't find the page you're looking for. It has either expired or is temporarily out of commission.

(need to click the *If you don't have a code, click here. part), get the cup code, enter it into the website and you'll get a form to enter more info, fill that out and you'll get a code that's good for $5 off your purchase through EA.com.

1943 will only be available through the EA download store most likely (maybe Steam too?), and personally I've never had a problem with it. It's $14.99 before the discount.

i don't know, i felt even the original 1942 map of iwo jima for instance was too small. i mean when you can walk from the airfield to the summit of mt. suribachi in like one or two minutes, something isn't right.

and to think these 1943 maps are even smaller than 1942 maps. what i can get to the summit in less than a minute?

I have always found that any player amount above 40 becomes very laggy. 32 players is perfectly fine and could possibly be a hard limit for what current mainstream computer can handle. Not everyone has a super duper awesome computer or crazy fast internet connection. Plus as it has already been said, the maps are small and were balanced for less people for the console version.
DICE have probably been using the extra time to balance the game for 32 players. Just think how much more work and time it would take to balance for 64 players. I am perfectly happy with a 32 player limit. I would rather play the game sooner with 32 players than wait for 64 player balance to be added for the very few people not satisfied with the 32 player limit.
