This is more about pushing the console version ahead of the PC version as another stab at trying to get PC people to migrate to the xbox.

I saw many people cave in and buy the xbox version of borderlands instead of waiting a week for the PC version, so these marketing strategies do work.

So because they release it early, people will forget what happend and race out and grab it?

If thats the case, I dont think it will change on release date.

I think they are releasing the game early in order to partially counteract the piracy on the 360, and the low sales (IW's explanation: PC is for pirates) they should expect for PC.

The whole situation ATM is just whack.... People say it's strategy others say it's IW counteracting.... Bleh... I'm clueless behind why they did this TBH, could be a very long list of reasons

gamestop here in brooklyn ny told me no..
they said they were selling them since friday and corporate called them, and told them, if they sell one more copy the manager, and employee will be fired ...they said that ill have to wait until the midnight release..
wow..sounds like someone messed up big time at game stop! LOL
