bah, there's no guarantee bc2 will be better than mw2.

BC2 has dedicated servers, even if its a straight forward port, its still better than MW2.

Just a reminder that 24 players may be too few for the PC.

A decent number could be 40+ players. An unlimited host definable player counter would be even better.

BF1943 for PC is confirmed to have 32 players, and while there are no details on the PC numbers for BFBC2 I think it's safe to say that it's at the very least 32 players as well.

Not if the game isn't designed for 40+ players. I know everyone loves 64 player bash fests but it isn't the end-all be-all of multiplayer gaming.

We'll know soon enough what the player count is going to be for the PC, 32 player would be just fine as long as it doesn't generate too much lag.

Now the question is, what will the system requirements be?

edit: i get really confused when people say open beta.. open beta to me means anyone is invited to get a cd-key. But that doesn't seem to be the case lately with games. So what exactly do they mean by open beta? I hope you dont have to sign up at fileplanet, give them money, then only have a chance to get in.

24 players... I'm not convinced that's enough for Battlefield, at the very least 32. But then that's for console so maybe, just maybe PC will get more.

Yes player count depends entirely apon map design. That said, I still prefer higher player numbers per server.

Reasons:
* Numerous and frequent targets. Many kills to go around, for all players.
* There would be a greater variety in the types of targets.
* High pop counts affords you the oppurtunity to either fight on the front helping the numerous initiatives around the map, or go off on your own special missions - without hindering your teams prospects for victory due to your absence.
* Chokepoints would feature intense firefights. Whereas low pop counts are always quick small mobile skirmishes.
* Naturally forming frontlines/stalemates would pop up far more often. With massive natural tug-of-wars in the center and flanks.
* Skill disparities between players are often far less significant to the outcome on high population servers than on low servers.
* Even less skilled players who would normally have a tough time getting a single kill, can have a blast ambushing/flanking distracted enemies in a large firefight.
* Huge multi-kill streaks with any of the hundreds of methods and tactics available to you in Battlefield.

A high player count is very much a part of the Battlefield experience.

I think DX9 would be the requirement. I believe that the Xbox 360 utilizes DX9? DX9 level graphics cards are still widespread, so I doubt they'd be abandoning that potential market for exclusivity. Maybe for BF3 and DX11.

haha it s funny how they sad (pc later) because they knew what kind of drama it would create if they dint mentiond something about the pc . So i think the pc communitie rly keaping DICE under a gun barrel. One mistake and they are dead :)
