Tactical nuke? Mkay...

We had those in Crysis and they kind of made sense since you used them to blow up the enemy HQ and win the game. But MW2 doesn't have any game type of that sort that I know of.

Now it all makes sense!!!!!!!!!

IW severely limited online MP so that they could implement the tactical nukes! Could you imagine if players and modders had complete control over DEDICATED servers, like in CoD4? And raised the player limits? Getting a 25 kill streak in CoD4 is SO EASY, whether you actually play using the guns, or nade spam, or abuse the airstrikes/helicopters, so could you imagine if nukes were in CoD4? Games would last only minutes unless you were playing with 16 people or less.

Now that servers are controlled by IW, the player limits are controlled. Not only that, but since they're not dedicated servers, you can't really have much more than 16 people on them before everyone starts to lag. THEREFORE, the nukes can be implemented successfully.

We can blame IW for a lot of things right now, but the things they put in the game is everything everyone has wanted. They listened to the community about 100% as far as content goes. Look at the list of stuff:

1. Snipers wanted the single player silencer in MP - DONE
2. People wanted multiple gun attachments - DONE
3. People wanted customized names - DONE
4. People wanted snow maps - DONE
5. People wanted customized killstreaks - DONE
6. People wanted prestige and higher ranks - DONE
7. People wanted more and newer weapons - DONE
8. People wanted more challanges to complete - DONE
9. People raved about Co-Op in W@W - TAKEN
10. Most played pub mod in CoD4 was Xtreme due to its awesome features and versatility -TAKEN

All these things you can find on wishlists in this forum as well as the other forums on the interet, just about every one. Most here can probably recall them also. This game is everything ever wished about in a CoD game all together.

I dont entirely blame the community wish lists for all this. In the end it is up to IW to show restrain and test all these things out to make sure they dont utterly destroy the game. In my opinion, this is a be careful what you wish for type scenario.

And back on the EMP killstreak - Yeah, its a high up there killstreak, but I remember watching a video and they were playing with the heartbeat attachment on that one gun and it was static. I think this EMP strike is like the nuclear one in that it will take out all radar stuff for the duration of the game. Thats just my theory, but with the videos we have seen, it matches.

- A rise in price
- New IWnet system
- Unmoddable content
- Having to pay for DLC

I agree, I think we all know that as well. Those moves have nothing to do with community and more to do with control of market. Those moves are insider moves.

My statement is more toward how we are blaming IW for all this stuff in the game when if you go deep into the forums you will find these wishlists and in them are all the things put into MW2.

I am looking at this at another angle and maybe its our (the community as a whole) fault that all these changes (the options in the game) have occurred. Of course, its not 100% ours because a developer should protect the game from its fans

I agree with you crunch that alot of what we have got in this game is our own faults, but looking at your list there is nothing in there that would stop me buying the game. Then you look at my list and almost every point would make me reconsider purchasing it.

I agree with you 100% Eliminator. Your list is the reason tens thousands are dropping this game and why tens of thousands more are on the fence about it. Maybe even more then that, but we will never know.

But as far as this article goes and the comments in here, it made me think about all the options we now see in this new game and if you think about it, its what we asked for. I don't know if the blame falls 100% on IW for a tactical nuke strike.

What would an EMP strike do? There's no vehicles in the game.

They'll never give credit to modders, whether the idea(s) were 'borrowed' from them or not.

In SP it disables the red dot aim on some guns.

Kind of ironic how the X360 version is on the torrents first. I wonder if 402 will claim 60% of console players pirated it.

And a fricen Nuke? Imagine having FF on, you'll get everyone killed, including teammates:hmm:. And with cheaters, they'd get those in a minute.

Still nuke is kind of a neat idea but the limit should've been 35, maybe 50 even. Nuclear attack is no joke.

Yep, they've added lots of things but then went ahead and killed the game.

And the general feeling I get with MW2 is that it's full of gimmicks, they just jam packed it with all kinds of corny things.

I with they had concentrated on just guns(and attachments) and maps, more guns and gun customization and more varied maps.

That's why I still prefar CoD1 to all the other CoDs, because the balance was perfect, it was very clean and had none of the extras, I don't even like sprinting it changes the gameplay.

All the rest of the CoDs became more and more about twitching, reactions running around like crazy than about tactics, being careful, sneaking around and thinking ahead.
