    Something Unreal On The Horizon

Yesterday, Epic Games briefly posted a teaser on their website which hints at something new being announced in the Unreal universe. Here's the image:

Is this the Unreal Engine 4? Unreal Tournament 4? A new Unreal game? Let us know what you think it could mean.

      Probably the new engine?

A new UT game would be nice though if they learned from their mistakes in UT3.

What mistakes were made with UT3? I know it didn't do very well, but I never really understood why.

I think it was too much the same game really. However a new Unreal game, now that would be awesome.

Too much ut2k4 for most people, and it kinda reeked of console port. Lot better with the latest updates though, so they're at least determined to make a great game.

Unreal 3 would be neat... But 2 sucked a big one, IMO. Hopefully they can do better.

I think the 4th engine might be a while, perhaps time to make another Unreal SP game

I do have hope that they can improve upon UT3, which sucked imo (but better with latest additions)

it peaked with 2K4 imo, UT99 was marvellous as well

such a pity it was consolified/gearsofwarified

I agree U2 had none of the feel and immersion that the original Unreal had, a U3 would be fantastic.

I think a lot of the head people over at Epic have said that the next engine will be aimed at the next gen platforms and would be released around 2012. I'd think it's too soon considering how much has been invested into UE3 and a bulk of games which are currently still in development for UE3.

"When Tim Sweeney was talking about Unreal Engine 4 ... he mentioned something along the lines of it being exclusively for the next generation of consoles… what he meant was, it won't run on this generation of consoles." Due to the engine's focus on next generation consoles, Michael Capps, President of Epic Games, indicated that the engine should be ready around 2012"
