Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes

    Conspiracy theory time.

IW realizes that theres no way they can finish the game in time with its features taylored for PC users. Remember, at one point they said that the game was finished for X360 and that they are going to start working on the PC version and that its going to be the same as before.

IW realizes- no game, releases a ******** statement and waits for the community to blow themselves up. Community does, petitions go for 200K, preorders get cancelled and IW tells the folks that their wishes have been considered and the game is going to come out with dedi-servers, although 2 months after consoles. IW gets their revenue off consoles without pirated PC version taking the toll and later sweeps the remaining sales with the PC version and giving a green light for pirates. Everyones happy, except for the retailers.

Then, Skinner sends in agents Mulder and Scully.

My Ventrilo's GSP released a statement slating Infinity Ward for their desicion too:

+ they are encouraging more people to sign the petition too.
Good on them. Perhaps future products released by Infinity Ward may be refused by many Server hosting companies.

I would have thought that to be a possibility before they started mocking and taunting the PC community in interviews and such.

A few others have mentioned variations of that to me as well. I think it was Jason West even saying they were working on dedicated servers. 402 said the PC side was going to be like CoD4s, which this is not like it.

Its hard to say whats going on there because the information has been limited to the game in general. We still do not have minimum specs. Steam has been pretty quiet about all this as well, which I think is strange.

Instead of Mulder and Scully, we need the A-Team. :mrt:

What an absolute load of clueless b*****ks. I have never witnessed such a childish spiral down hill by a company in my entire life.

They have just become a complete joke. I doubt they will ever pull out of this and to be honest I hope they don't.

Infinity Ward responds to the PC community outrage at the "no dedicated server" uproar.
[INDENT].................. PC gamers will have an online experience functionally identical to console players.
Duh, Then I will buy a Console, You Freakin' retards!

                Why not have both?
Why not? Or Why not just Dedicated servers!

Re: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes

402 apparently never played on a modded server. Hell, I don't even think he ever played the PC version of his god damned product. Honestly, his post reeks of consolitis and the peasantry that goes with it. (I have nothing against console players, but this guy is just ignorant)

I have to agree with the guy that said that they didn't finish the game in time and decided to take the easy way out and port what they can, asap.

It makes sense. Why would take dedicated servers out if your game engine ALREADY HAS IT BUILT IN and your game was totally capable of supporting it? (MW2 runs on "improved" MW1 engine). Instead they finished the XBOX version, and started porting to PC (at this point they were probably planning to have dedicated servers and mod support).

Somewhere along the road they figured they won't make it on time, so screw the mod support and dedicated servers, let's just port what we can, let the PR dept. sugar coat the release and grease up the community. At that point they probably got the green light from Activision since the geniuses there realized that if they disable mods, they can force the PC user's to buy DLC, just like our console friends.

                  Now the delay rumor.
The reason why there were talks about a delay is probably because:
                  a) The port isn't finished, hence no time to do dedicated servers.

                  b) IW.net is crapping out when they were testing it with a large amount of players. Theres is no way that system can deal with a large amount of players running on a cheap-*** broadband net.

Too late now to fix it. Instead sugar coat, tell the "peasant" community that everything is improved and better.

To be honest, each statement that comes out from these people is a joke.

And I thought my jokes were bad...
