I dont know for 1942, but BF2 sounds have always been fine. The change in the LAV-25 sound was just that, a change. I like the original more but the new one isnt bad, it isnt worse.

In short, dont try to masquerade DICEs screwups with the decisions theyve actually made themselves. Especially considering the 2 years timegap of nonactivity after theyve sacked DICE Canada.
No, swedish DICE created special forces... They didnt just change LAV, they changed the MEC chopper, jeep/tank engine/turret turn noise, missile fly sounds, BTR cannon sounds, Essex... but 1942 sound changes in 1.3 patch were even worse than BF2s, they probably had 2€ table speakers at their office and made new sounds to sound bit more beefy on them.

DICE? if you don't want to do matchmaking?

        Please explain BF hero's?

Dont try and be the teachers best student when you have been naughty already

DICE didn't say anything about matchmaking, just that they were using dedicated servers for all their games.

But the IW.net wont have dedicated servers, thats what the fuss is about.

yes, but falling under the server terms of use of EA..... we have hosted a bf2142 server for a long period and i never liked the rules involved either.... What is a dedicated BF RANKED server more worth then iw.net one? well you can brand and manage... but never fully take control of the server without breaking any of the BF server rules...like banning a single weapon... this makes the server unranked or if you still manage to do so get warned by EA..... i know ranked is all about being equal but it sure takes away the fun to run a server and manage it the way you want to....

You can do whatever you want, people have no idea about any terms of use, and EA doesn't watch the servers.

mabe not anymore but they sure did... certified providers would get warns from EA for servers users run.... (for example knife only servers)

                      Dunno wat is better?

                      - A BF dedicated server that you cant really change to meet your needs + payment + extra for ranked
                      - A IW.net server that cannot be changed at all...

AKA Sacked. If you were working in Canada, how willing would you be to move to a completely new cultural atmosphere halfway across the globe? Its a choice of having no choice.

Leopardi, DICE Canada made Special Forces, look it up. Im playing BF2 aswell as BF2 Demo and the changes in sounds are in no way for the worse, or "****ed up" as you put it, thats BS. The sounds are simply different. As a matter of fact, I prefer the tank turret and LAV sounds to the old ones. They are different, not worse. Considering how you blow this "****up" out of proportion, Im inclined to believe that the changes in sounds for 1942 were the same. Different, not worse.

There is nothing stopping you from having full control of a server, running custom maps, or mods. Having to follow some guidelines to be ranked is nowhere near completely getting rid of dedicated servers and any control over the game.

I haven't heard of anyone since the day 1.3 was released for BF1942, who wouldn't think the new sounds suck arse 110%. I was playing BF1942 a couple of days ago before I uninstalled the game again because of **** admins, and I had people complaining about the sounds still.

Honestly the LAV sounds suck compared to old realistic ones, they are even out of sync so you can hear two shells going off when you only shoot one. BTR sounds were nice beefy, now they suck. Though they are still nothing compared to 1942 **** up, at least they are tolerable.

A lot of the staff working at DICE atm are from the US. I know for one, Colin Clarke, dev on Heroes is from the US (only because he tells me how crap the Flames are when we talk...)
