More love for PC Gamers from DICE

Following the rather funny, yet slightly unsubtle poke at Infinity Ward about their disregard for PC gamers and dedicated servers, DICE developer and forum member Demize99 has declared full blown love for us keyboard and mouse folk and taken pity upon Modern Warfare 2 fans. Here is what he had to say via Twitter:

#Battlefield You're dedicated to your game, why shouldn't your servers be dedicated too? We understand your pain #MW2 PC fans.

...our game & engine is way too demanding for being played through P2P with all the players, vehicles & destruction going on. Which is why we pay for hosting dedicated servers for the games.

Yeah, sure. Except DICE is just making a marketing stunt at IW-s expense. In reality, well be getting two console ports and rumours say BF3 may follow MW2-s suit.

If by following suit you mean using P2P, consider those rumours baseless:

If that's the case for BFBC2, BF3 wouldn't be any different.

As for marketing stunt, sure, theres nothing like good competition :p.

they said this many times that 1943 and bad company 2 are NOT going to be console ports. i still stick behind them. and even if they are console ports. if they have dedicated servers, and play like it should on the pc. im not bitching.

DICE have already said , No mod support for ANY frostbite engine game.

They didnt say that there wont be tools for frostbite at all, just not for BFBC2. If bf3 will be what we all hope for, it will have mod support.

BF1943 and BFBC2 are developed for consoles first hand and while I'm pretty sure the PC versions will be great this very likely means there's not going to be mod support (but hopefully still customizable servers).

I guess it's up to BF3, the wonder game, to save us again
