Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Achievements Unveiled

Title says it all. Today IGN released a list of single player/spec op achievements. You can see it here:

October 2, 2009 - Apparently people don't want to stop talking about – or leaking – Modern Warfare 2 info anytime soon, as today has seen the first showings of Infinity Ward's achievement list for the game. Published to Xbox360Achievements.org is a full-on list of all 50 accolades in the game, as well as the full point values.

The list for the game's achievements is as follows:

Back in the Saddle (15 pts) - Help train the local militia.

Danger Close (15 pts) - Get hand picked for Shepherd's elite squad.

Cold Shoulder (15 pts) - Infiltrate the snowy mountain side base.

Tag 'em and Bag 'em (15 pts) - Find Rojas in the Favelas. <!--more-->

Royale with Cheese (15 pts) - Defend Burger Town.

Soap on a Rope (15 pts) - Storm the gulag.

Desperate Times (15 pts) - Execute the plan to help the Americans.

Whiskey Hotel (15 pts) - Take back Whiskey Hotel.

The Pawn (15 pts) - Assault Makarov's safe house.

Out of the Frying Pan… (15 pts) - Complete the mission in the airplane graveyard.

For the Record (35 pts) - Complete the Single Player campaign on any difficulty.

The Price of War (90 pts) - Complete the single player campaign on Hardened or Veteran difficulty.

First Day of School (25 pts) - Complete 'S.S.D.D' and 'Team Player' on Veteran difficulty.

Black Diamond (25 pts) - Complete 'Cliffhanger' on Veteran difficulty.

Turistas (25 pts) - Complete 'Takedown' and 'The Hornet's Nest' on Veteran difficulty.

Red Dawn (25 pts) - Complete 'Wolverines' and 'Exodus' on Veteran difficulty.

Prisoner #627 (25 pts) - Complete 'The Only Easy Day… Was Yesterday' and 'The Gulag' on Veteran difficulty.

Ends Justify the Means (25 pts) - Complete 'Contingency' on Veteran difficulty.

Homecoming (25 pts) - Complete 'Of Their Own Accord', 'Second Sun', and 'Whiskey Hotel' on Veteran difficulty.

Queen takes Rook (25 pts) – Complete 'Loose Ends' and 'The Enemy of My Enemy' on Veteran difficulty.

Off the Grid (25 pts) - Complete 'Just Like Old Times' on Veteran difficulty.

Pit Boss (10 pts) - Run The Pit in 'S.S.D.D' and finish with a final time under 30 seconds.

Ghost (10 pts) - Plant the C4 in 'Cliffhanger' without alerting or injuring anyone in the blizzard.

Colonel Sanderson (10 pts) - Kill 7 chickens in under 10 seconds in 'The Hornet's Nest.'

Gold Star (20 pts) - Earn 1 star in Special Ops.

Hotel Bravo (20 pts) – Earn 4 stars in Special Ops.

Charlie on Our Six (20 pts) – Earn 8 stars in Special Ops.

It Goes to Eleven (20 pts) – Earn at least 1 star in 11 different Special Op missions.

Operational Asset (20 pts) – Earn all 3 stars in at least 5 different Special Op missions.

Blackjack (20 pts) - Earn 21 stars in Special Ops.

Honor Roll (20 pts) - Earn at least 1 star in each Special Op mission.

Operative (30 pts) - Earn all 3 stars in at least 10 different Special Op missions.

Specialist (30 pts) - Earn 30 stars in Special Ops.

Professional (30 pts) - Earn all 3 stars in at least 15 different Special Op missions.

Star 69 (90 pts) - Earn 69 stars in Special Ops.

Downed but Not Out (10 pts) - Kill 4 enemies in a row while downed in Special Ops.

I'm the Juggernaut… (10 pts) - Kill a Juggernaut in Special Ops.

Ten Plus Foot-Mobiles (10 pts) - Kill at least 10 enemies with one Predator missile in Single pLyaer or Special Ops.

Unnecessary Roughness (10 pts) - Use a riot shield to beat down an enemy in Single Player or Special Ops.

Knock-knock (10 pts) - Kill 4 enemies with 4 shots during a slow-mo breach in Single Player or Special Ops.

Some Like it Hot (10 pts) - Kill 6 enemies in a row using a thermal weapon in Single Player or Special Ops.

Two Birds with One Stone (10 pts) - Kill 2 enemies with a single bullet In Single Player or Special Ops.

The Road Less Traveled (10 pts) - Collect 22 enemy intel items.

Leave No Stone Unturned (10 pts) - Collect 45 enemy intel items.

Drive By (10 pts) - Kill 20 enemies in a row while driving a vehicle in Single Player or Special Ops.

The Harder They Fall (10 pts) - Kill 2 rappelling enemies in a row before they land on their feet in Single Player or Special Ops.

Desperado (10 pts) - Kill 5 enemies in a row using 5 different weapons or attachments in Single Player or Special Ops.

Look Ma Two Hands (10 pts) - Kill 10 enemies in a row using akimbo weapons in Single Player or Special Ops.

No Rest for the Wary (10 pts) - Knife an enemy without him every knowing you were there in Single Player or Special Ops.

Three-some (10 pts) - Kill at least 3 enemies with a single shot from a grenade launcher in Single Player or Special Ops.


There's a lot to take in, but check out a few quick facts. First off, you've got 17 missions. Secondly, there are 340 points in just Special Ops mode, meaning you're going to need to find some buddies and practice up if you want to 1,000 point the game. And lastly, no multiplayer achievements. Looks like there will be plenty to unlock in the game's main multiplayer mode without adding in more fluff to your gamer score.

Looks like a lot of replay value in the single player/spec-op realm. You think these achievements are enough?

But I'm not yet sure if I will buy MW2 straight away.... So I guess I'll have to wait and see...

I will, without a doubt.

The replay effect from all of these unique achievements will help that too.

Im so divided about this game. I owned CoD4 originally for the PC and loved it but moved on after it got boring, i then picked it up for my 360 for $30 and must admit i enjoyed playing it more on the console due to fewer players however finding a decent ping was always difficult.

Im positive i wont get this game on release, i will wait a month or so and see how it goes, but im still unsure as to which platform i will get it on. Im dedicated to my PC, but im not spending $100+ for a badly ported game thats again full of grenade spam and 32 player servers.

Im not going to pay fullprice since they upped it a bit. Ill give it a few months, if its not atleast half-price I doubt I will buy it. CoD games are good, but after so many I just feel ive done it all before when playing them.

LOL, you grammar Nazis. I'm sure whomever was typing it out, their hands were shaking with expectation to be the first to come out with the news for you all

@Eliminator, It is a tough decision for sure. Ive said it before that the game is designed around smaller server sizes. Just because we don't know what the PC side is getting, I am not getting the game right away either.

Not to persuade one way or another but these achievements are SP and Special Ops, which is 2 player. I am very sure the single player side is going to have a great story and be fun.

But it will be tough to decide.

Hmm, I kind of enjoy these 'unique' achievements in mp also...hopefully they DO have enough unlocks to keep it interesting. I know there is a game after ranking up and unlocking everything, but it is kind of fun. :)

I'm also trying to decide on when or if to get this. I believe I will hold off until I officially here the PC has dedicated servers. I mean, you could play sp in the meantime, but yeah, those first few days online usually suck anyway lag wise, so hopefully the sp can tide you over. Still...give me dedicated servers before we even THINK about buying this as a PC gamer.

last night i saw on my friend s friend list that a guy was playing mw 2 online i have seen the name of 12 maps they are as follows

1 highrise
2scrapyard
3skidrow
4 sub base
5 wasteland
6 favela
7 derail
8 underpass
9 afgan
10 estate
11 quarry
12 terminal

these are names of maps that i have seen with my own eyes i dont claim tp know what the maps look like just the names

With people being able to see things on Live, I wouldnt be too surprised that these are some of the maps.

In the news I just posted today with the IGN rewind they confirmed a few maps themselves that happen to be on the list.

Do we know if these achievements are just for the Xbox 360 or are they going to be available for PC version too?
