FIFA 10 Demo - Get It Now, Even in America!

The FIFA 10 demo is officially out for the Xbox 360, the PS3, and the PC in Europe (all of the world for the PC). However, the actual release date for the demo in the US for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 is not until the 17th of September. But for those who do not want to wait, there is a fix to this. Many people did this for the Killzone 2 demo also because instead of trying to find a Killzone character in Playstation's "Life", you could just straight download it via a British account.

Here is what you need to for PS3 users if you are in the US and you want the FIFA 10 demo NOW! (I do not have an Xbox 360, so please post if you know how to do so for that system).

    1) Create a new user on your PS3 system.
    2) Use a different email and online ID for this user than your usual user account.
    3) You are going to need to use "British" identification.
    4) Create a fake name, choose London as your location, and use something like 1234 London St. for your address.
    5) Go to the Playstation Store, and sign in with this new account you have created and click on "Latest" at the top left in the navigation menu.
    6) Right in front of you will be a big fat pic of Rooney's face with the FIFA 10 demo awaiting for you to download.

Note: For any future demos or anything else console related, you will now be able to use this account when the "higher ups" try to release something for Europe first. Europeans, you could equally do the opposite by creating a US account to be prepared for any "US first" releases.

Enjoy your demos right when they are available!

Here is one link to the PC demo, DOWNLOAD HERE, in which I got 1MB a sec, and I do have fast cable, but it is definitely speedy on their end also.

Okay, I played both the PC and PS3 version, so I'll split my opinions:

        PC:
The graphics almost seemed a little lower than last time, but pretty much the same as they said it would be. The passing and shrugging of players is a little smoother. The 360 degree dribbling does not feel like 360 degrees to me. Better than Fifa 09, but not a true 360 by any means. I did notice some more 'randomness' as far as shooting, hitting goalies, bouncing, etc which adds some excitement. I also did block some shots by using the hips of my defenders by either sliding or jumping, those were cool. The net is still a rubber chicken...

Overall, very similar to Fifa 09, not much of a diff imo. I like the menu better, and a couple improvements, but it doesn't really warrant a purchase imo if you have Fifa 09 for the PC.

        PS3:
I know "they" say the graphics are better on the PS3, but compared to the PC fully cranked, I quite disagree. Players jerseys are blurry, this must be running at 30fps, it shows, and there needs to be some AA going on for the jaggies. Players seem elongated, the PC has better player proportions imo. One thing I do give the PS3 the huge advantage over the PC is the fluid movement of the players, ball, and overall game. Feels much more like you're watching it on tv. The improved features they have spoke of that are pretty much non-existant on the PC definitely exist on the PS3. I was shoving players, dribbling with almost a perfect 360, passing was very smooth, and the game has definitely sped up. However, I do kind of feel like players are somewhat "floating" as they move. The net wins HANDS DOWN on the PS3. Moves perfectly like a real net. AI seemed to be quite good on both OFF and DEF, but I find it harder to steal the ball on the PS3 than on the PC, hmm.

As for shooting, the PC seems to give you a better grip on the ball and where you want to shoot, but it can feel clunky at times. For the PS3, it feels much smoother and loose, but almost too loose at times. This probably comes down to more of what you have played in the past and are used too.

Overall, much better than Fifa 09 imo, and would probably be worth the upgrade from 09 IF, and I say IF, you are a soccer fan. These details making the game much smoother and more realistic would be worth it, but causal players may not be able to tell.

        PC vs. PS3:
My verdict...combine the two please! Just like with Fifa 09, the PC has its benefits compared to the PS3 and vice versa. I would love to have the fluid passing, movement, 360 dribbling, natural like flow of the game, but at the same time, have the graphics, control, and player proportion of the PC.

Once again, I am left trying to decide between the two. I have it pre-ordered for the PS3, but I do not know if I still want it. It's fun, but can I get over being used to the feel of the PC one since I own FIFA WC06, FIFA 08, and FIFA 09 on PC?

Well i played the 360 demo and i agree with most of what has been said however i found a few things straight away.

The graphics imo feel worse than that of 09 and also 08 with textures feeling blurry and and in some places pixellated

Another annoyance i found was that in the 2 mins you actually get to play in the demo i gave away or conceded about 50 fouls which really slows the game down. It seems you only have to bounce shoulders for a yellow card or foul to be given away and its rather annoying.

I have played it for a few hours now and I thought it was harder to get a foul against you then in 09. I guess the only problem is that you get fouled for handball alot more often, but as far as tackles I didn't get as many freekicks against me.

I really liked the fact that when you shot at the goalie anything could happen now, instead of how it was in 09 where you would get 1 out of 5 different outcomes. Also, with being able to set up your own freekicks/corners/etc... I think this game can be alot of fun.

The game is a lot more fun, the trailers have shown us this (well only a few).

But the demo itself is... REALLY disappointing.

Ok well i just had a few more rounds with the demo and im impressed. This game IS much more fun and the randomness is brilliant. I was chipped by the computer who hit the crossbar only to have my keeper flap a save off the line! At another point i had a shot from about 30 yards and it flew in off the post!

                Loving it
