Q? Do I have to reinstail BF2(the CD's) to play? because I have not had BF2 on my rig for some time, Because I reformated sometime ago and never put it back.

Yes a BF2 modification dose require BF2 to be installed to run it.

I despise BF2 but love 2142... it just feels more solid; I'm certain DICE did some serious renovations to the engine despite what people claim.

not much difference in the engine, but 2142 has a lot of designs that differs from BF2.
