The ground game is a lot more fun without instaprone instadeaths and the improved hit detection but the ground-air balance is still incredibly out of synch.

Does the game need to be patched up to 1.4 first, or will 1.5 patch work on a fresh install?

It must be patched to 1.41 first.

I haven't played much but the Great Wall map is awesome... really cool feeling to actually play BF2 with "new" content again - BIG kudos to Dice

Gonna jump right in it again, this is a good day for BF2.

Great Wall is an excellent and very fun map to play, that before today, was very under-played. I think it was DICE's orginal answer to the call for an urban Chinese map, though it does have some good vehicle warfare outside of the wall. It's also fun to mine all of the vehicle entrances into the main walls and you get some pretty pitched battles going. There's nothing like sending in a buggy to blow up the mines quickly and then rushing in with infantry, tanks and APCs to take the inner points.

Pretty much all of the booster pack content is good quality and it'll be great to really get some large scale battles going.

when you tab out it works fine but when you try to tab back in you only get a black screen. only killing the game the hard way solves this

Alt+tab has always worked quickly and fine for me!

Sick, more then 1000 people wievig this thread ;-) I just have to write something because my once favourite game is being updated after so long time and what a great update this seams to be, cant wait to play this game after some time of abscense ;-)

Man the new maps are frekin awesome! I've been playing on the dA! server and it's insane! I haven't played all of the new maps, but so far it's been great!

Alt+tab has always worked quickly and fine for me!

It worked for me in 1.41, but I get black screen in 1.50. Baza is telling people to turn off anti-aliasing to solve it.
